Managing Director, Graham McIntosh said. “The opening of our office in Madrid is a very significant landmark for Universal WorldEvents which means that we now have an office in each of the five major European markets. It puts us in a very strong position to be able to look after our existing clients and to develop new ones. It is a key step in the on-going development of our global footprint and our ability to provide clients with global reach backed up by a local service.”

Macarena Hidalgo has been appointed as General Manager to spearhead the company’s entrance into the Spanish market. Macarena has extensive events industry experience throughout Spain and internationally. She has previously established her own agency in Spain which she sold to Maritz.

In addition to establishing local market based clients, Macarena and the Spanish team will also be working across a number of Universal WorldEvents’ international clients. In the meantime, she has already started conversations with a number of the company’s clients.

Commenting on the appointment Macarena said, “I was delighted to be appointed by Universal WorldEvents – it is such an exciting time to be joining the company. I have extensive healthcare events experience so it really does feel the right fit for me. We have a team in place and are ready to start delivering excellent events for our clients“.

European Director, Andrew Winterburn commented, “I am delighted that Macarena has joined us as she has the perfect blend of business experience and events expertise.”
