Catch Me if You Can

Thursday afternoon saw World Series competitior Michal Navratil of the Czech Republic catch the bouquet from a “wedding couple“ at the popular wedding location at Scaliger Castle in Malcesine while jumping from a 24 metre balcony during a shoot for a video production in the build up to the fifth stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series.

Overlooking Lake Garda the famous castle, which was supposedly built by the Lombards, destroyed and rebuilt, owned amongst others by bishops, the Visconti family, the French and Austrians before it was declared a national monument in 1902, is a popular wedding venue known throughout Europe. For the coming weekend, though, the high diving elite will conquer the historical building to indulge their one and only love – leaping from dizzying heights and enjoying a three second flight spiced up with twists and flips.

27m above the lake, World Series leader Gary Hunt and eleven more daring men will open the second half of the 2011 season on Sunday, July 24, at 4.00pm. Their breathtaking performances will entice an armada of rubber boats, surfboards and spectators into the water around the castle. For all those who cannot witness the world-class high diving competition in person, the action can be watched as a live webcast on www.redbull.tv/Redbulltv
