Pattaya, Thailand – Thailand’s coastal resort city of Pattaya has been transformed into Asia’s “golf hub” as golfing dignitaries and decision makers from around the world – including course and resort owners, managers, architects, designers and developers, officials, and players – gather at this vibrant tourist destination for the week-long 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit.

Mr. Akapol Sorasuchart, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, commented: “Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB is delighted to support the 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit under its ‘Believe in Thailand – Thailand: Destination of “CHOICES”’ campaign. The campaign theme reflects the multitude of choices, options and settings that together make Thailand a unique and perfect location for any business event. TCEB’s goal is to ensure that every experience is unique, with more choices now and the most choices for the future.”

Golf superstars including Tony Jacklin, Peter McEvoy, and also the Tennis superstar, Jimmy Corner are among a star-studded cast of international speakers and panelists who have confirmed their attendance; well over 500 delegates participates in the 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit that tees off on 31 October.

The Summit incorporates several major golfing business events, including the 2011 Golf Course Superintendents of Asia Summit (GCSAS 2011) the PGA Conference of Asia, the South East Asia & India Golf Merchandise Exhibition (SEAIGME), as well as the Inaugural ASEAN Golf Tourism Forum. This is the second consecutive year that the Asia Pacific Golf Group has held its events in Thailand.

While last year’s event was held in Bangkok, the 2011 APGS is staged in the vibrant resort city of Pattaya, at the plush Royal Cliffs Hotels Group and its world-class Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH). With its dedicated convention venues, wide choice of accommodation and diverse leisure opportunities, Pattaya is perfectly geared as the ideal ‘MICE City’ to host any international business meeting, convention or exhibition. The 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit augurs well for Thailand’s aim to be recognized as a major golf hub in Asia.

In conclusion, Mr. Akapol added: “Thailand’s convention and exhibition industry works to world-class standards, and commits to a personalized professional service, tailoring each individual event to maximize success. With a wide diversity of options and dedicated venues, countless business opportunities, and an unsurpassed reputation for hospitality, it is no surprise that Thailand is the ideal choice for international business events, large or small.”

The current flood situation in the vicinity of Bangkok has had no impact on the 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit and other convention events hosted in Pattaya, as the city and Bangkok’s International Airport are located well away from impacted areas.

The Asia Pacific Golf Summit takes place at The Royal Cliff Beach Resort, Pattaya, Thailand from 31 October to 6 November. It will run concurrently with the 2011 Golf Course Superintendents of Asia Summit and will be followed by 2011 PGA Conference of Asia and 2011 South East Asia & India Golf Merchandise Exposition.
