This year’s IMEX, the leading world-wide exhibition for meetings, events and incentive travel, will be attended by the HBAA, where the association will divulge its International Charter and how overseas hotels and venues can benefit from the buying power of the UK’s most influential agencies.

The International Charter represents a mark of integrity and understanding of the relationship between the UK agencies and overseas properties. The Charter covers response times to enquiries, commission levels and payment terms and has been created in response to growing demand from agencies booking outbound business. It also reflects the call from international hoteliers and venues to benefit from the UK corporate spend.

Peter Ducker, Executive Director of the association, and Steve Ockerby, International Projects Chair of the HBAA, will be hosting two of IMEX’s Lightning Learning Labs sessions under the titles: ‘How to Win Your Share of the UK Outbound Market’ and ‘Increasing your Inbound Conference Business from the UK Agency Market’. The sessions will run at 10:30am and 15.00pm on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd May and just at 10.30am on Thursday 24th May.

Steve Ockerby said: “This is a very exciting time for overseas properties to get more involved with the UK agents who place business internationally. Simply by signing up to the International Charter properties abroad can expect to see an increased volume of enquiries, and ultimately bookings, coming their way.”

There will also be opportunities to arrange one-on-one interviews with Peter Ducker and Steve Ockerby for further explanation.

The HBAA is made up of the UK’s leading agencies involved in the procurement of meetings, events and business accommodation, many of whom have overseas offices in key financial cities and are booking significant groups into overseas markets.
