ABPCO launches TechNOphobia workshops for PCOs

ABPCO has today launched a series of workshops aimed at providing practical insights into events technology for PCOs.  Branded ‘TechNOphobia’, the workshops are designed to provide hands-on experience of using a wide variety of apps, smartphones and tablet devices to enhance delegate experience and audience interaction.  The first workshop will be held at the ICC Birmingham on July 12th and will focus on iPad audience interaction tools, presented by app specialist firm Technology4Events.

Aimed at PCOs and event organisers, the TechNophobia workshops are suitable for all levels of knowledge and experience, in particular aiming to offer an ‘amnesty’ to those who may be less familiar with new technologies but keen to understand more in order to advise clients on how to leverage these tools at their conferences and events.

ABPCO Chair Michael Foreman commented: “There is such a huge array of apps and tools available to PCOs now that is can seem a bit daunting!  If we are to be in a position to advise clients on what will work best for their event, then we need to make sure we have some practical working knowledge of how such applications can be used at conferences.  Our TechNOphobia workshops are designed to be very practical and give event organisers a chance to get their hands on the technology in a pressure-free environment, plus giving them the opportunity to discuss openly with peers how to make the most of event technology to enhance the experience for their clients and delegates.”

ABPCO is planning to hold a series of events in the autumn under the TechNOphobia banner.  These will look specifically at Twitter management tools, event networking apps and other interactive technologies.  For more information or to register interest, please visit www.abpco.org.
