The Finnish Fair Corporation will begin the New Year by strengthening its sales and customer services. At the same time, new possibilities will be created for developing the setting for the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre’s premises and events. This organisational change is a continuation of the development work begun last year.

New look for sales
The Finnish Fair Corporation’s sales function includes five sales teams and, from the beginning of this year, a team focusing on meeting and event sales. Moving convention and event sales into the same unit as other sales services will provide the Exhibition & Convention Centre’s exhibitor and convention customers with a more comprehensive set of services. Mikko Horppu has been appointed Director of the Sales Unit.

New look for customer service
The Finnish Fair Corporation will combine all Exhibition & Convention Centre customer services in a single Customer Service Unit. This unit will serve exhibitors in all matters related to fair participation and the building and equipping of exhibition stands. In addition, the unit will assist convention and event organisers, as well as fair, convention, congress and event guests. Veronica Krabbe has been appointed Director of the Customer Service Unit.

New look for production and premises
The potential for developing the Exhibition & Convention Centre’s premises will also be improved through the organisational change. The new Production and Premises Unit will cover the Exhibition & Convention Centre’s hall services, premises maintenance and construction service. This unit will also include Suomen Videoviestintä SVV Oy, a subsidiary specialising in AV technology. Mika Vakkilainen has been appointed Director of the Production and Premises Unit.

New look for product development
The Exhibition & Convention Centre’s international event sales will be moved under the Product Development Team. Product Development will be responsible for event development throughout the Finnish Fair Corporation. Development Manager Jussi Kivikari will lead Product Development.

With the changes being introduced at the beginning of the year, the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre will offer its customers an even more successful and sociable forum for meeting up – richer in experiences and providing surroundings that meet various needs in line with customer wishes.

The Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre has just enjoyed a year of success. Around a million visitors attended an event centre featuring 10,000 exhibitors. During the year just under way, the Exhibition & Convention Centre will be renewed in a variety of ways, through refurbishments of its Gallery areas, restaurants and meeting rooms. Service channels and information systems will also be renewed.

The early year’s first events at the Exhibition & Convention Centre are the northern Europe’s largest travel industry event, Matka 2013, www.matkamessut.fi and the Caravan Fair, www.caravanmessut.fi
