EIBTM (www.eibtm.com), the global event for the meetings and events industry, is gearing up to host 15,000 meetings industry professionals for the 26th edition of the show, which is set to take place 19-21 November at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona.

Attending EIBTM as a Trade Visitor will provide meetings industry professionals from across the globe, with the opportunity to conduct face-to-face meetings with over 3,000 global exhibitors. It will also offer a number of dedicated platforms for attendees to benefit from the comprehensive education and networking programme, which will be integral to this years show.

One of the key highlights at EIBTM 2013 will be the Innovation Zone. This new area on the show floor, has been designed to feature a number of new initiatives including a play area for the Top Innovations, a stage for Spotlight Sessions (45 second elevator pitches for exhibitors), the Genius Hub and A Wall of Fame. Graeme Barnett, Reed Travel Exhibitions, EIBTM Exhibition Director commented, “We are making a fair few changes to the show this year, with the addition of a number of new feature zones. Each will bring something different to the attendee experience. The Hologram Genius Zone will allow attendees to discover the world of holograms and visual projections and the Sustainability Genius Zone will help to educate attendees further about sustainability, green meetings and how to become more competitive through sustainability.”

EIBTM 2013 is set to open with the second edition of the EIBTM Forum, which will take place on Monday 18th November from 4:30pm – 6:30pm and is open to all EIBTM participants. This opening session will set the tone for following three days of business ahead and will include a cutting edge keynote speaker from the business world as well as the second presentation of the EIBTM Lifetime Achievement Award. Attending EIBTM will also support meetings industry professionals to keep up to date with what is new in the industry. EIBTM Knowledge is the newly branded education programme which will once again be working with leading industry associations including Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Meetings Professional International (MPI), International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the Society for Incentive Travel Executives (SITE) and speakers to provide fresh perspective and new content. Led by some exciting and influential experts, the EIBTM Knowledge seminars and workshops cover a wide variety of topics, key issues and developments affecting the meetings industry. There will also be a number of networking opportunities for EIBTM 2013 attendees. This year’s Welcome Reception, hosted by Barcelona Tourisme and partners, will take place in the Fira Gran Via and will be themed ‘The Changing face of Barcelona’, depicting how the city has changed and continues to evolve to meet the needs of the international meeting planner.  EIBTM will also conduct the EIBTM Networking Hour on Wednesday the 20th November, prior to the EIBTM Club Night which will once again be hosted in Opium Mar (www.opiummar.com).
