Geneva, Switzerland – November 11th 2013. MCI announced the opening of new offices that will strengthen its core service offering in untapped and established markets.  These new offices will bring MCI’s expertise to the emerging markets of the G-20 (Group of 20) largest economies in the world, offering corporate and association clients unparalleled access to fast growing and new dynamic markets.

The new and existing markets in which MCI will offer service are:

South Africa | Cape Town & Johannesburg
MCI South Africa, with offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town, builds on the presence of Ovation and now offers the full MCI value proposition to this high growth market and gateway to Africa.  Over the last few months, several corporate mandates (including a highly innovative Hackaton for a leading South African IT company Britehouse) and some major association conferences (including the South African Principles Association) have been executed with great success.  MCI will spend the next few weeks to build and formalize a local team that can deliver with local cultural feel and leverage MCI’s global expertise.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia | Jeddah & Riyadh
MCI in a joint venture with leading Travel Management Company, Al Tayyar Travel Group, is now in the process of establishing its base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, within its two prime cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.  Saudi Arabia is a crucial market and is the largest member of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) States. MCI Dubai has already operated several major conferences in the Kingdom this year, including one of their largest events SICOT (Saudi International Congress on Organ Transplant) as well as an International Corporate event for VMware, one of MCI’s leading Global ICT clients. With permanent offices in these cities, MCI will be able to offer these and further clients solutions to build and engage their communities.

Indonesia | Jakarta
MCI Singapore has been working closely with Ovation’s Strategic Partner, Smailing Group, to create a new Joint Venture company called MCI Indonesia with headquarter office in Jakarta.  With a population of close to 240 million, Indonesia offers corporate and association clients with a fast growing and dynamic market to further develop their brands and association communities. As of now, MCI has the local expertise and facilities to deliver in this fast-pace new market.

China | Macau
In April, MCI acquired the Australian businesses of Off-Site Connections (OSC) and in October, the OSC China business became fully integrated into MCI Shanghai while OSC Macau has now become MCI Macau.  Macau is the largest gambling destination in the world and offers exceptional conference and meeting facilities.  With new bridges and rail-lines to be completed in the next few years, Macau will become the meetings center of the Pearl River Delta, which is the largest metropolitan area of the world with 120 Million inhabitants in a one hour surface travel radius and includes cities like Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. MCI Macau enjoys a very close relationship with The Venetian and Sheraton Macau, the largest convention hotels in Asia.  The team of OSC will bring a strong track record of Creative Event production to MCI China and Macau.

Belgium | Congrex Belgium in Brussels
MCI Brussels has reached an agreement with the liquidator of Congrex Holding to acquire the assets, staff and client contracts of Congrex Belgium.  Congrex Belgium has several long-term international AMC mandates and the 19 staff will move into the offices of MCI Brussels.  This further consolidates the association services market in Brussels, making MCI the un-contested market leader in the region.
