@accliverpool confirms return of @NHSConfed for fifth time

NHS Confederation hosted its fourth conference at ACC Liverpool and confirmed it will return to the venue again next year.

Its return will see a total of £16.9m in economic impact generated over the five events.

The annual conference and exhibition, one of the most high profile healthcare gatherings in the UK, welcomed around 1,600 delegates and speakers to the waterfront venue last week.

It included keynote speeches from secretary of state for health Jeremy Hunt MP, new NHS England chief executive Simon Stevens and Andy Burnham MP, shadow secretary of state for health.

During the event, which brings together senior leaders from across the whole of the health and social care system, organisers announced that they will return to ACC Liverpool from June 3 – 5 next year. Its previous visits to ACC Liverpool were in 2009, 2010 and last year.

Eija Hakkinen, interim head of events at NHS Confederation, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the success of our annual conference this year. The feedback from both the delegates and exhibitors has been outstanding.”

Full production was provided by the in-house ACC Liverpool team including speaker preview; soft edge projection to a super wide screen; live video streaming and recording; lighting and rigging.

Kerrin MacPhie, director of sales at ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, said: “This was another significant event with 1,600 delegates and speakers, 850 exhibitors on 120 stands and high-profile keynote speeches in the arena D-end. We were pleased to also provide full production this year.

“The commitment to return to us for a fifth year is a reflection of our entire team and our relationship with our valued client.

“Its return will mean a total contribution of almost £17m in economic impact which is extremely positive for the city, not only in financial terms but also due to the global attention the event attracts.”
