World Ski Awards signs LEITNER as 2014 partnerWorld Ski Awards is proud to announce the signing of an exclusive partnership with LEITNER ropeways, Prinoth and DemacLenko.

The event, the only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in ski hospitality, returns for a second year to welcome leading international figureheads and decision makers to A-Rosa Kitzbühel on November 21st-23rd.

The full three day programme consists of luxury chauffeur driven airport transfers to and from the five-star A-ROSA Kitzbühel, exclusive networking events, private skiing on the slopes of the world famous Hahnenkamm, sight-seeing tours and a host of other networking activities.

The highlight of the event will, of course, be the glittering red carpet World Ski Awards Gala Ceremony itself on the evening of November 22nd.

World Ski Awards Managing Direction Sion Rapson explained: “As we put the finishing touches to our preparations for World Ski Awards 2014 it is an honour for me to confirm our partnership with Leitner Group.

“The synergies between rapidly expanding World Ski Awards and the Leitner Group are obvious; matching our tireless pursuit of excellence within the ski tourism sector with an established market leader.”

One of the leading snow tourism conglomerates, Leitner Group was founded in Sterzing, South Tyrol, Italy, in 1888.

The organisation is globally competitive in a number of markets, from ropeways to snow groomers and from tracked utility vehicles to urban transportation systems. With the addition of a snowmaking division in 2010, Leitner Group added yet another industry champion.

In 2013 the group recorded a consolidated turnover of €709 million, with Leitner boasting more than 3,000 employees worldwide.

Martin Leitner, member of the board and Chief Sales Officer for LEITNER ropeways, added: “We are proud to partner with World Ski Awards in 2014. The ambition of LEITNER ropeways has always been to take our superior technology and design into the world’s best ski areas; a desire I believe aligns perfectly with the search for excellence undertaken by World Ski Awards.

He added: “Together with our sister companies, snowgroom producer Prinoth and snowmaker Demaclenko, Leitner Group is the only supplier able provide a whole ski area from one source.”

As well as accolades for the best products from the world’s leading ski tourism nations, awards for the ‘World’s Best Ski Resort’, ‘World’s Best Ski Hotel’, ‘World’s Best Ski Chalet’, and ‘World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ will be presented by World Ski Awards in 2014.

New to the 2014 programme will be awards for ‘World’s Best Ski Tour Operator’, ‘World’s Best Ski Travel Agent’, ‘World’s Best Ski Resort Company’, ‘World Best New Ski Hotel’ and ‘World’s Best New Ski Chalet’.

Spain will also enter the pantheon of the top 21 ski nations to be honoured.

World Ski Awards is the sister organisation of World Travel Awards, which is heralded as “the Oscars of the travel industry”.

Tickets to the VIP gathering are by invitation only.
