Artur Gerber to take over as CEO

2.2.2015
The TUI Group underpins the importance of the hotel sector for its growth strategy by establishing a separate company to pool the hotels of the new TUI hotel brand. In mid-February 2015, Artur Gerber will take over as CEO of TUI Hotel Betriebsgesellschaft mbH. The 50-year-old will push the planned expansion of TUI hotels ahead, identify suitable establishments and boost marketing activities. The TUI Group is planning to establish up to 50 hotels under the TUI brand in the next three to five years. The relevant brand architecture for the TUI hotels is currently being developed.

In his new function, Artur Gerber will report to Thomas Pietzka, Director TUI Hotels & Resorts. “I am delighted that we have engaged such an experienced manager with Artur Gerber. He has all the skills it takes to successfully develop our new hotel brand and profitably position it in the market”, says Pietzka.

Gerber has many years of experience in the hotel sector. He started his tourism career in 1986 as a hotel business trainee at Dorint Hotels & Resorts, where he became General Manager within a few years. Other steps in his career included Center Parcs Germany GmbH and Aldiana GmbH, where he worked from 2002 to 2010, initially as Operations Manager and finally as CEO. His last position was CEO of HMS Hotel Management Services GmbH, responsible for the internationalisation of the Maritim Hotel Group. In that function he was in charge of the development of new hotel projects, operational support and marketing consulting.
