CP_28World Travel Market Latin America, the event that brings the world to Latin America and promotes Latin America to the world, will generate business deals in excess of $341 million (£206 million).

Independent research of WTM Latin America exhibitors revealed that the 2014 event in Sao Paulo last year generated a massive $341 million of deals either through contracts signed during the event or negotiations that followed.

The fast approaching third WTM Latin America that is held in conjunction with the 43rd Braztoa Business meeting from 22-24 April will be the biggest yet with the move to a larger and more conveniently located venue, Expo Centre Norte, and is poised to facilitate even more business than last year.

The massive amount of business that is expected to be generated can, in part, be accredited to the array of great networking opportunities that are available for delegates to take advantage of.

The WTM Latin America Hosted Buyer Programme returns to the event with up to 100 senior level travel industry buyers attending the show as a VIP. Already confirmed for 2014 are buyers from leading travel providers Emirates, Thomas Cook and JAC Travel.

Furthermore, the Braztoa’s Caravan returns with Braztoa hosting 900 Brazilian travel agents, while the tour operator association will also host 70 product managers who are Braztoa members.

The event also welcomes back the hugely popular Speed Networking session acting as a catalyst for an array of big money deals. More than 100 buyers and 600 exhibitors will take part in the one and half hour long session on Thursday 23 April to negotiate and agree a number of business deals to grow both the Latin American region and the global tourism industry.

Bernardo Ignarra, Promotions and Partnerships Coordinator, City of Sao Paulo Tourism spoke out at last year’s event explaining: “For me I’m in love with this event, it´s where the business happens and where you see results which is a big difference to other events. I´m so happy to be here today.”

New for this year, WTM Latin America 2015 will have a dedicated Business Travel Area added to the exhibition floor to host global travel management companies (TMCs), airlines, hotels and technology suppliers. 100 Brazilian business travel buyers will be hosted to conclude deals with the business travel exhibitors. The ALAGEV (Latin American Association of Event Managers and Corporate Travel) will host the section, and will be responsible for the Corporate Business Forum, on the 24th, in the main theater of the fair. Trends and relevant topics for professional growth of your target audience will be presented.

“With the new and improved initiatives in place for 2015, we are likely to exceed the $341 million business figure for this year.”
