Managing Director Alexandra Kaszay’s decision to expand the existing portfolio by harnessing the power of the latest advances in conference technology has borne fruit – and after a successful year in 2014 the Hofburg Vienna is looking forward to a strong year ahead in 2015.

“The Hofburg Vienna’s event management team is one of the big players on the Austrian and international market, and oversees a fantastic mix of events each year,” explained Managing Director Alexandra Kaszay. Congresses, corporate meetings and OSCE conferences account for about 58 percent of total revenue, while national and international banquets contribute 13 percent of the total.

Both segments underscore the reasoning behind the strategic focus on multi-day conferences and meetings (association and corporate business), and international banquets with 150 or more participants. More than 10 percent of revenue is attributable to ball events.

The Hofburg Silvesterball — a proprietary event held at the turn of the year — generated around 7 percent of turnover and made a significant contribution to the local economy. The fairs and exhibitions segment accounted for about 6 percent of the total, as did concerts. Around 70 percent of the events are international in character.
