Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau appoints Market Manager
Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau today announces that Aude Cometta has been promoted to the role of Market Manager. Aude, who has been with Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau for over four years, will focus on business development and sales opportunities in this newly created role, supporting Congress and Meetings Manager Olivier Mathieu.

A graduate of the SSAT tourism and hospitality school in Bellinzona, Switzerland, Aude joined Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau in early 2011 as marketing assistant, following a placement with the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB) in Paris.

Aude comments: “I am delighted to take on this new opportunity and further develop our corporates and associations sector business here in Lausanne. We have a strong multinational and association client base and many international associations choose Lausanne as their headquarters which lends further testimony to the attractiveness of the destination for international meetings and events.”

Olivier Mathieu adds: “Aude has proven her value to the team at Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau and I am thrilled that she will take on this new role to strengthen our efforts in the meetings sector.”

Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau is home to more than 70 international association and federation headquarters, including 30 multinationals. A recent study by the AISTS, the International Academy of Sports Science and Technology, found that associations have a significant economic impact on the region, with ISOs (International Sports Organisations) in Switzerland attracting more than 32,000 overnight business visits each year. The average economic impact of these ISOs is estimated to be around CHF 250 million for Lausanne only (approximately EUR 242 million), CHF 550 million for the canton of Vaud (approximately EUR 532 million) and CHF 1.07 billion for Switzerland (approximately EUR 1.03 billion).
