Contract and event caterer, Fare of London, today announces the inclusion of buffalo meat into its menus as part of the company’s 25th anniversary Forgotten Fare campaign. Partnering with British organic and biodynamic food producers, Laverstoke Park Farm, the caterer will launch new buffalo meat and UK-sourced buffalo mozzarella dishes during British Food Fortnight (19th Sept – 4th Oct 2015).

Developing locally sourced seasonal dishes, including house-smoked, slow-cooked buffalo and roast fillet and faggot of buffalo with Yorkshire truffled potato and Surrey wine jus, Fare of London’s award winning chefs will incorporate the meat into a number of the menus across client venues. The company has also chosen Laverstoke Park Farm as the supplier of Leghorn and Maran hens’ eggs, both of which are peerless amongst free-range, organic poultry eggs.

Fare of London’s Managing Director, John Durden, says: “We’re really excited about our new relationship with Laverstoke Park Farm. Buffalo meat is a tasty full flavoured alternative to beef, it can be prepared much the same way as beef without special handling and Laverstoke Park Farm’s products meet the quality standard that we strive for at Fare of London.

“Although perhaps not an obvious choice for ‘British Food Fortnight’, the buffalo meat gives us the chance to take our Forgotten Fare campaign to the next stage; showcasing the best of British and highlighting some of the more unusual foods that currently wouldn’t be seen in the mainstream.”

Laverstoke Park Farm’s Owner, former Formula One World Champion Jody Scheckter, says: “I started the farm in 2001 to produce the best tasting and healthiest food for me and my family. Laverstoke Park Farm has now expanded in size to over 2,500 acres and we are known for buffalo meat but also the expanding range of buffalo cheeses we produce. We look forward to working with Fare of London.”
