IT&CMA and CTW 2010 To Welcome Stellar Cohort Of International Delegates Choice Buyers, Corporate Travel Managers and Association Executives To Attend

BANGKOK, 28 July 2010 – Efforts to attract an international bevy of choice IT&CMA MICE buyers and CTW corporate travel managers, association executives and media have paid off handsomely. More than 900 registrations from interested participants around the world have been received so far. This year’s Doublebill MICE and Corporate Travel event is slated to boast one of the most diverse and sought-after target audience profiles which exhibitors and sponsors are looking to meet and network with.

“Our exhibitors tell us that in addition to wooing the MICE sector, corporate travel and association networks are pivotal for business going forward. Thus, our focus this year is to ensure that we deliver more of these delegates to the event.” observes Mr Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, organizer of IT&CMA and CTW 2010.

IT&CMA and CTW 2010 have always been reputed for its track record to source for and accept only bona-fide delegates to the event. Part of the show’s investment includes hosting of buyers and corporate travel managers that possess reputable buying potential. Mr Ng explains, “This year, with the overwhelming number of registrations received, the continued enforcement of our stringent validation measures will serve to heighten the quality of buyers and corporate travel managers attending IT&CMA and CTW.”

In addition to the investment of delivering a diverse profile of quality international buyers and corporate travel managers, the organisers have also enhanced the IT&CMA and CTW 2010 programme. This successfully contributed to attracting procurement managers, planners, influencers and decision makers from some of the world’s biggest corporate names across multiple industries including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Symantec, Societe Generale Bank, The Body Shop, Robert Bosch and Mazda. “Delegates are also looking forward to the return of the popular ‘You Say, I Say’ interactive panel discussion that invites audiences to voice their opinions and engage with six dynamic industry experts on some of the community’s most pressing issues. This year’s keynote presentation on ‘The Future of Delivering and Creating Value In Service’ by Ms Irene Ng will offer fresh perspectives and insights on achieving optimal results in this area.” describes Mr Ooi Peng Ee, General Manager of TTG Asia Media’s events and exhibitions division.

This year’s programme will also welcome a variety of top association executives from International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the Asian Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus (AACVB) who are co-locating their meetings in conjunction with IT&CMA and CTW 2010. The specially designed starter accreditation Association Professional Competencies Certification Course (PAE102) offered during CTW 2010 by the Australian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) and Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), is expected to bring more association executives to the show. CTW’s second accreditation programme, the Corporate Travel Expert (CTE) Designation Course by National Business Travel Association (NBTA), is tailored exclusively for Corporate Travel Managers.

The event’s strategic partner Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is also intensifying its efforts to promote Thailand as a MICE and Corporate Travel destination through IT&CMA and CTW 2010. Mr. Akapol Sorasuchart, President of Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau commented, “To encourage an increased Thai presence at this exhibition, TCEB has funded a total of 57 local travel agents and destination management companies to be at the event. These companies will occupy over 300 sqm of the IT&CMA exhibition hall. This supportive and optimistic response demonstrates Thailand’s determination and dedication as the host country of IT&CMA and CTW, in moving towards fulfilling our intention of being the centre of MICE development for the Asia Pacific.

Registrations for all hosting programmes including buyer, corporate travel manager and media will close on 13 August 2010. Trade visitors who are interested to attend may register online at www.itcma.com

TCEB LAUNCHES ‘THAILAND MAXIMIZE’ IN THE 17TH IT&CMA AND 12TH CTW ASIA-PACIFIC

thai maximiseThe latest privilege package ‘Max Value’ launched is certain to encourage 15% growth in terms of meeting and incentive visitors by 2010

BANGKOK/THAILAND – October 2009 – The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) moves forward to explore international markets in the Q4 of 2009 with its “Thailand Maximize” campaign. Aiming to revamp Thai MICE industry at its best, the organisation reflects Thailand to international eyes with a brand new image concept “Nowhere else offers more for your business event”. The notion is designed to highlight the value for money, variety of choices and Thai’s unique way of courtesy as core magnets.

The campaign will debut in the 17th IT&CMA and 12th CTW Asia-Pacific, altogether with newest privilege package ‘MAX VALUE’ invented to boost MICE’s meetings and incentives sectors. Conference organisers and managers can enjoy optimal privileges and value for money from today until 30 September 2010.

TCEB’s Director of Meetings and Incentives, Mrs. Malinee Kitaphanich, revealed the background of “Thailand Maximize” that the organisation had conducted the survey and research on Thai MICE industry from 2008-2009. The finding reflects that Thailand undoubtedly offers efficiencies and value for money for organising MICE activities of all sorts.

“Be it the facilities, transportation, professional MICE management, reputation as a world-class travel destination, world-renowned hospitality or unique Thai culture, it truly contributes and encourages the overall growth of Thai MICE industry.”

The “Thailand Maximize” campaign stems from the integration between the country’s core strengths and strategic marketing plan, basing on an international outlook. From these impeccable advantages, Thailand is eventually represented as the ideal destination for MICE industry in Asia. The “Nowhere else offers more for your business event” conception will be communicated to the target group, MICE travellers worldwide, with an emphasis on Thailand’s three main value propositions: Value for money spent in organising meeting in Thailand, Variety of meeting sites set among fabulous attractions and Thai’s unique heartwarming hospitality. These values are believed to inspire and reflect a new perspective to MICE travellers, which are considered quality market, in recognising Thailand as a perfect hub for MICE industry in Asia.

“The “Thailand Maximize” was kicked off by TCEB in early of October. The first phase of 2009 Events held from 1-4 October has opened the door for media members from over 20 countries worldwide, ranging from Asia, Europe, America to Australia, to a new vista of MICE industry in Thailand. Today, we are officially introducing the campaign to over 2,000 operators and buyers visiting the 17th IT&CMA and 12th CTW Asia-Pacific 2009, which TCEB is an official sponsor. Moreover, Thailand has been the choice for IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific for 8 consecutive years now. I am pleased and proud to mention the success as the event has been widely praised as the most colossal MICE trade show in Asia-Pacific”, noted Mrs. Malinee

Besides introducing the campaign in distinguished world-class trade shows, TCEB has prepared a cutting edge marketing communications plan to launch the “Thailand Maximize” campaign in order to create awareness in Thai MICE industry in a brand new way. The organisation is now ready to appeal international markets, both Short-haul and Long-haul, in order to encourage the revival of Thai MICE industry and guarantee constant growth.

The privileged “MAX PACKAGE” was also launched by TCEB for organisers and buyers of MICE in Thailand, ranging from meetings, incentives, conventions to exhibitions. TCEB’s privilege packages are available in MAX VALUE, MAX REWARDS and MAX BONUS, each of which is expected to strike target client and respond to all demands of MICE foreign travellers in a seamless manner.

“For opportunities in meetings and incentives sectors, TCEB is proud to present our new privilege package “MAX VALUE”, which will absolutely attract target client to Thailand with a variety of generous advantages. Those who will enjoy the benefits include meeting group of 50-100 persons or more, golfing group, team building group, educational tour group and corporate visitor group under the Connection Plus Programme. Lasting until 30 September 2010, this campaign is not only expected to efficiently encourage the meetings and incentives industry, but the “MAX VALUE” can also achieve in reflecting the uniqueness, perspective and strengths of Thailand in a brand new way. As well, we believe that the Max Value will boost the growth of meeting and incentive visitors for 15% by 2010, from the current estimated visitors of 250,000 in 2009” stated Mrs. Malinee.

In 2008, Thailand attracted 727,723 MICE travellers, with 51 percent or 371,681 travellers from meetings and incentives sectors, generating earnings of more than 21,066 million Baht. In 2009, TCEB has foreseen that Thai MICE will bring over 41,000 million Baht of revenues into the country, with an estimated figure of MICE travellers at 500,000.

FUTURE LEADERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS INDUSTRY COME TO BANGKOK

FUTURE LEADERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS INDUSTRY COME TO BANGKOK

itcma_leadersBangkok will play host to some of the brightest up-and-coming students in the international meetings and incentive travel industry when the IMEX MPI & IT&CMA Future Leaders Forum takes place at The Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld on 6 and 7 October 2009.

This initiative, developed and organised jointly by IMEX, the leading exhibition for meetings and incentive travel held in Frankfurt, and MPI (Meetings Professionals International), offers talented young students the chance to gain an unrivalled insight into how to build a successful career within this expansive industry.

“We are investing in the future”, says Carina Bauer, IMEX marketing and operations director. “The Future Leaders Forum effectively assists up and coming event organisers in developing their talents and enhancing their understanding of the market so that they are equipped with the knowledge needed to one day lead the industry. Proof of this is the fact that the Forums have now become hunting grounds for savvy employers who want to snap up the best students at the very start of their careers.”

In addition to Mrs Pornthip Hirunkate, secretary general at the Tourism Council of Thailand, speaking on the meetings industry in Thailand, the day will comprise of a series of presentations from leading industry experts. Robin Lokerman, president of MCI Asia Pacific and CEO, Institutional Division, will be speaking on ‘The Meetings Industry – Not a job but a career!’; Jane Vong Holmes, managing director at Best Cities Global Alliance, will discuss ‘Meetings for Generation Y’; and IMEX’s director of international relations, Tom Hulton, will present ‘Cross-Cultural Understanding for Effective Business in the Meetings Industry’.

Students will also be given the opportunity to create and plan their own perfect event in team exercises before presenting their work to a panel of judges on the second day of the Forum, but not before a group visit to the IT&CMA & CTW Exhibition. The Future Leaders Forum will also consist of the Bangkok stage of the International University Challenge. Students will have prepared presentations in advance of the Forum to deliver to the panel of judges who will decide on an overall winner. This student will then be invited to compete against other International University Challenge winners from around the globe at next year’s IMEX Exhibition, taking place 25 – 27 May 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany.

All students receive a Certificates of Participation at the end of the Bangkok Future Leaders Forum and then an ongoing communications, networking and mentoring programme allows students to stay in touch with peers from around the world and continue to build their industry knowledge.

Offering unique culture, traditions, cuisine and landscapes as well as a healthy infrastructure, Thailand expects to receive 636,000 foreign visitors for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) in 2010. This will include over 400 different events and generate an estimated 45,100 million baht income. This demonstrates the value of the MICE industry to Thailand and the Future Leaders Forum has been designed as a means of securing a bright future by investing in the next generation of industry leaders.

IMEX – MPI Future Leader Forums will also take place this year in destinations around the world as widespread as Shanghai, Belgrade, Warsaw, Rome, Puerto Rico and Vancouver. Around 900 students will take part in the 2009 programme, with approximately 3000 students having undertaken the programme since its launch in 2003. 80 per cent of those stated they are “more likely to enter the industry as a result of attending the Future Leaders Forum.”

Carina Bauer finished: “The Future Leaders Forum is a life-changing experience for many of the students that take part. Most come away with the knowledge and experience that sets them apart from the crowd when looking for that all important break-through into their dream job and many are successful in securing internships and jobs through the Forum. Furthermore, it offers the mentoring and educational opportunities that will help to secure the future of the industry by producing a new generation of leaders.”

IT&CMA and CTW 2009′s a grand feast of opportunities

IT&CMA and CTW 2009′s a grand feast of opportunities

ITCMABUYAsia-Pacific’s premier Doublebill event grows with increased MICE and corporate travel delegates and sold out exhibition floor

Singapore, 25 September 2009 – TTG Asia Media, the organiser of the combined IT&CMA (Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia) and CTW (Corporate Travel World) Asia-Pacific, is pleased to announce that the tradeshow has maintained its foothold as the region’s premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) and Corporate Travel event in the light of a recovering global economy, with steady increase in attendance by MICE and corporate travel delegates and an exhibition space sell-out.

Into its 17th and 12th year respectively, IT&CMA and CTW will be held at the Bangkok Convention Centre (BCC) at CentralWorld, Thailand, from 6 to 8 October 2009. More than 2,000 leading industry professionals from Asia-Pacific and the rest of the world are expected to attend the Doublebill event (two shows in one location), driven by the theme “Feast on Asia!”.

For a start, buyers and exhibitors in key markets have maintained their support and even expanded in several areas. Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, commented, “The implementation of strategic marketing and partnerships with industry partners has led to an increase in the number of MICE and corporate travel buyers from Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Mexico and Spain. The Doublebill event will also be welcoming new buyer delegates from Qatar, Romania and Tunisa. With a strong pool of close to 350 buyers, sellers can be assured of a fruitful time at the event.”

The corporate travel managers/planners’ segment has recorded a 25 per cent increase from last year as hosting privileges are extended to corporate travel professionals outside the Asia-Pacific region for the first time. Participants from countries with established business travel markets, such as Germany, Switzerland and the US, will be present.

Apart from achieving a full-house exhibition floor, IT&CMA and CTW 2009 has garnered strong support not only from our long-time exhibitors, but also the new industry players. Country and state pavilions, namely Thailand, Macau, Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, The Philippines, India, Taiwan, Sabah, Brunei, Indonesia, Busan, Spain, Busan and Hawaii, have all returned in the 5,500 sqm show floor this year.

Host country, Thailand, leads with the biggest booth space of 300 sqm and brings in 81 co-exhibitors, followed by Macau with 260 sqm. Seoul Tourism Organization, which was under the Korean pavilion in 2008, will enthrall with their own 60 sqm pavilion.

CTW exhibitors will benefit from the value-added services on top of their existing CTW exhibiting package this year, which includes an extra thirty-minute presentation at the CTW Technology Lounge (Booth E19), to engage with delegates. This initiative is in addition to the booth space and table-top in the dedicated one-hour CTW Networking Session with corporate travel managers/planners. The additional presentations will be held over two days, on 7 and 8 October at the Exhibition Hall, Level 22, BCC. The Technology Lounge is open to all delegates, and presenters may also invite their guests and clients.

IT&CMA and CTW will also bring delegates in the association and corporate travel professions improved educational benefits this year, as a result of international partnerships with recognised institutions. IT&CMA delegates will gain from the enhanced conference and educational content with the launch of the “Association Professional Competencies” course leading to the Professional Association Executive (PAE 101 – Part 1) certificate; a joint collaboration between TTG Asia Media, Australian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) and Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE). CTW Asia-Pacific is also pleased to present the “Fundamentals of Business Travel” starter course leading to the Corporate Travel Expert (CTE®) designation for the second year, conducted by National Business Travel Association (NBTA).

The courses will be held between 5 and 6 October 2009. Visit www.itcma.com.sg for more information.
