More than 700 delegates, including buyers and media, from 58 countries learned more about Australia’s adventure experiences at the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) world summit in Chile earlier this month.

There was strong interest in Australia’s rafting, kayaking, trekking, diving, horse riding, fishing, mountain biking, cycling, bird watching and cultural experiences as well as the eight Great Walks of Australia.

A report released by the ATTA, “Taste the Adventure” highlighted Australia’s food and wine combined with the country’s soft adventure offering as experiences consumers are looking for.

Tourism Australia’s Distribution Development Manager in the Americas, Sarah Postler, shared the latest market updates and details on campaigns and spoke on a panel about Tourism Australia’s distribution development work in the USA.

Tourism Australia has worked closely with ATTA to create the Adventure Advocacy Group (AAG), a highly targeted group of eight outbound operators whose mission it is to grow the adventure travel segment for Australia.
