This includes hostels, hotel apartments and luxury suites, so the number of beds is also increasingly rising. We listed some of the biggest developments.

New hotel openings

The ambitions are high when the Danish family owned Arp-Hansen Hotel Group will open their first hostel in the center of the city in the summer of 2017. The hostel will hold 1,000 beds and 280 rooms, all with shower and toilet, which the hotel group plan to be the city’s best hostel. Due to the new hostels´ size, the hostel meets the needs of conferences with large groups of people, who wish to stay cheap and central.

Nimb Hotel, in the amusement park Tivoli Gardens, was recently awarded the prestigious award “Hotel of the year of Small Luxury Hotels of the world”. In late 2017, the hotel is to expand with 2,000 m2, including 20 new luxury suites, plus a spectacular roof terrace with a heated pool, restaurant and bar.

The meetings and conference venue, Charlottehaven, is constructing a new 16-storey tower, which will contain 37 apartments. Each apartment will be nearly twice the size of a traditional hotel room, and will include both kitchen and bath facilities. The hotel will have its own reception and lounge area. The new concept hotel is expected to be ready in late 2017.

The hotel expansions will continue in 2019, where the Danish low budget hotel chain CABINN will increase its extensive portfolio with a new hotel right next door to the Tivoli Congress Center and around the corner from the Copenhagen main train station. The new hotel CABINN Copenhagen will offer approximately 1,250 rooms of which 1,000 will be divided in CABINN’s standard range of hotel rooms, and the remaining 250 rooms will be established as CABINN Apartments with kitchenette, suitable for longer stays.

In the opposite side of the city, CABINN also increases their hotel portfolio. Hotel CABINN Metro is adding 550 hotel apartments with homely facilities, to its existing 170 rooms, opening late 2017. Hotel CABINN Metro is located a few minutes from Copenhagen airport and Scandinavia’s largest convention center, Bella Center.

The hotel is located in the district of Frederiksberg in central Copenhagen, and the conference center accommodates events for up to 3,000 people. In connection with the takeover, the hotel will go through an extensive renovation and extend to offer 300 rooms, and change name to Scandic Falconer.

Hotel Scandic Front is not the only Copenhagen hotel that received a facelift. Hotel Skt. However, the atmosphere of the hotel is affectionate preserved, so guests still can sense the hotels inherent history, in the heart of Copenhagen.
