meetovation_elementerFor a decade, the happy Danes have been first movers on innovative meetings, using their meeting design concept, Meetovation. Today, the concept is relaunched worldwide with a version 3.0, including a new Meetovation Manifesto, an even stronger focus on educating more Meetovators across Denmark and a brand new website with more hands-on meeting design tools and cases.

The Danish meetings industry has come together in support of the acclaimed meeting design concept that cemented Denmark’s position as a frontrunner in creating innovative meetings. Nine key players  from the Danish meetings industry have been involved in the enhancement of the Meetovation concept to ensure it is keeping up with the ever changing way we do meetings.

With Business Events Denmark at the helm, partners including Wonderful Copenhagen CVB,Scandic HotelsCarlson RezidorComwell HotelsBC Hospitality GroupInspiring Denmark,VisitAalborg and VisitAarhus, have contributed to future-proof the Meetovation concept.

New and improved

At the heart of the new Meetovation concept is the Meetovation Manifesto. Going from a concept with five elements to help plan the best meeting, the Meetovation Manifesto is the Danish meeting industry’s pledge to be part of the meeting process from A-Z, taking co-ownership, sharing knowledge, customizing the meeting and thinking responsibly in the process.

The new Meetovation concept thus looks beyond the meeting itself and takes a holistic look at value creation at meetings, whilst also contributing with more hands-on advice and cases on how to think strategic with meeting design.

Steen Møller, head of the Meetovation committee and Business Events Denmark, says:

“In Meetovation 3.0 there is an increased focus on value creation for the meeting organiser with emphasis on creating behaviour changes in the participants. We have a more pronounced assessment of the relevant elements of meeting design, and an increased responsibility for the society we are part of, and in Denmark we know how to translate that into practice.”

More Meetovators

As a part of the new Meetovation, emphasis is put on educating even more meeting planners in Denmark in the strategic concept.

“We’ve already got more than 300 Meetovators and offer Meetovated meetings in Denmark, but we want to make it available at as many locations as possible. To start with, we have initialized an education process for our Meetovation partners. In the longer term, the aim is to educate many more certified Meetovators across the country,” Steen Møller adds.

In addition to the above, the Meetovation website containing useful hands-on information and cases on how to use strategic meeting design in meetings is also relaunched. The site comes in both a Danish version for the Danish meetings industry and in English for an international audience.

The future of meeting design

Steen Møller goes on to explain the need for updating the already well-functioning meeting design concept:

“The meetings industry is in constant change. We’re constantly becoming more professional, innovative and knowledge-based, and it is crucial to take into account everything that is happening both digitally and within face-to-face meetings.

Denmark is recognized for its innovative meeting design and a destination that is always pushing the boundaries to get more out of meetings. We are never satisfied with “that’s how we usually do it”. The Meetovation concept needed to evolve with the changes we see in the meetings arena – it is an on-going process!”
