CHICAGO – Spring is right around the corner which means the masses are planning their Spring Break getaways. The latest CheapTickets.com Cheapometer breaks down spring break travel cross-demographically and identifies travel trends, tips and top destinations for value-seeking college students, up-and-comers (adults ages 25 to 34) and families.1

According to CheapTickets.com®, a leading seller of discounted travel products, college students are the largest demographic traveling over the spring break period, with 44 percent planning to take a trip, compared to 37 percent of up-and-comers and 23 percent of families. Across the board, the top spring break goal of all three groups is spending time with friends and family (though perhaps as no surprise, college students are looking forward to parties more than the other two groups) and everyone is open to finding ways to save money on their vacations.

“This year, with gas prices the lowest they’ve been in some time, road trips dominate as nearly two-thirds of those planning to travel are driving to their destination, and most people, regardless of demographic, have their sights set on Florida or California,” said Brian Wolf, general manager of CheapTickets.com. “That being said, there are a lot of other great options that are within driving distance from different regions of the country that will allow for greater savings and new experiences.”
