ifemaSpain’s leading trade fair operator and one of the most important in Europe, is to host the 17th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards

IFEMA, one of Europe’s leading trade fair operators is hosting the most prestigious Indian film industry event, as main sponsor of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. These recognise artistic and technical excellence in Indian cinema, and which are held in a different part of the world every year.

In its 17th edition, the Gala of the Bollywood prizes will take place in Hall 6 at Feria de Madrid from 24 to 26 June. This means that, as well as being a sponsor, IFEMA will be the headquarters of an international event, which will be followed by more than 800 million spectators all over the world.

The event will be made up of three big spectacles: the IFFA Stomp music festival, to be developed within the framework of MULAFEST, Urban Trends Festival; which is organised by IFEMA; the show of the IIFA Rocks music awards, and the handing out of the IFFA Awards, which will be attended by great stars of Indian cinema, one of the most important in the world that produces a thousand films annually.

In parallel, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (Ficci) will hold an international business forum in Madrid on these days which will encourage the closeness and interchange of Spanish companies and entrepreneurs from India.

The holding of the event is framed in the growing activity developed by IFEMA as headquarters of large international events such as fairs, congresses and conventions, and artistic performances, sports events and shows, contributing to underlining the positioning and capacities of Madrid in the international scene as a reference of business tourism and headquarters of large events.

IFEMA is Spain’s number one trade fair organiser and one of Europe’s main operators. More than 500 events take place every year on the trade fair facilities (Feria de Madrid). This impressive portfolio of shows and congresses comprises more than 80 meetings which bring together 30,000 companies and more than 2.7 million trade visitors from all over the world, every year.

The IFEMA- Feria de Madrid trade fair site is chosen by the world’s main operators to hold congresses and events. Covering 200,000 square metres of indoor exhibition space and equipped with the latest technologies and services, IFEMA-Feria de Madrid is one of the world’s great trade fair venues, whose activities have an economic impact of 2,400 million euros and provide 40,000 jobs a year.
