The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), lit up their iconic SSE Hydro as the venue showed its support for World Diabetes Day (14th November 2015).

With the PCMA Medical Summit also being held at the Glasgow venue, it was the perfect opportunity for the delegates to join the SECC team in recognising this important global initiative.

Organised by the International Diabetes Federation, World Diabetes Day aims to highlight the growing risk of diabetes to peoples health and wellbeing around the world.

Announcing their support for World Diabetes Day, Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SECC said: “We have been delighted to support Diabetes UK in recognising this important issue in previous years and are very pleased to do so again this year. Diabetes poses a very real risk to many people throughout the UK, and the world, and so we are very proud to use our iconic Glasgow landmarks to raise awareness and support the very important work that they do.”

Jane-Claire Judson, National Director of Diabetes Scotland, said: “We’d like to thank the SECC for supporting the 276,000 people living with diabetes in Scotland, and millions more worldwide, by going blue to mark World Diabetes Day and help raise awareness of the condition.”
