TTG Incontri 2016 will host an analysis and discussions with the Chinese tourist market with a view to cooperation. The meeting is planned for the morning of Friday 14th October with the participation of Dai Bin, President at the China Tourism Academy, the top governmental authority in China on tourism issues.

Fifth incoming market for Italy, for Europe it is estimated that it will produce a flow of between 80 and 150 million tourists within the next 15 years. In the last year, 70 million Chinese tourists travelled abroad, spending over 215 billion dollars (an increase of 53%) and this trend is destined to rise.

There is great dynamism in China too: in fact, within 2020, the government intends boosting the service sector, raising its incidence on the GDP from the current 50.5% to 56%. Large investments will be dedicated to the development of transport, thus expanding the number of destinations able to be visited, thanks to the realization of new high-speed railway routes, which will increase from 19,000 to approximately 30,000 kilometres by the end of the decade.

Rimini Fiera SpA Tourism & TransportBusiness Unit Director Paolo Audino explains, “We will enable Italian and European trade members to network with the top decision-makers of Chinese policies on issues of tourism – for networking that will enable to plan business development for both parties, with an in-depth coverage that has never been seen before at any expo outside China.”

TTG INCONTRI ANSWERS THE QUESTIONS!

Which international destinations will grow the most? Where will Italians go on vacation in coming years? Which will be the favourite Italian destinations with foreign tourists? How are the methods for booking and paying for travel changing and how is a trade sector that, worldwide, (UNWTO figures) reports over 1.2 billion arrivals (+4.4%) evolving? These are just a few of the questions to which Rimini’s great international event will provide the replies. And this is where every year over 63,000 trade members meet to plan the evolution and growth of their companies and of the sector.

At just over three months from the event, here is more advance news on the issues that will be covered in depth at the expo.

BUSINESS TRAVEL

For the first time at the expo, a focus dedicated to business travel will be presented, featuring the diffusion, by Polimi – Polytechnic of Milan, of a studio purposely carried out to ensure an insight of the sector and its evolution. By means of numerous case studies, there will be an analysis of the means used by Italian companies for the management of business travel and the trends in international demand.

TO SELL EMOTIONS, IT’S NECESSARY TO KNOW THE CLIENTS

To understand the vacation demand and, more specifically, “weigh” clients’ expectations of satisfaction, is an increasingly topical issue. This resulted in the initiative of TTG Incontri to form a partnership with the Emilia Romagna Association of Psychologists and the Di Bene In Meglio Association of Psychologists, which for 5 years has specialized in “psychology of wellness and happiness”, to pass on to trade members the ability to understand clients’ psychology and therefore understand the best vacation to offer them. Two conferences are on the program and the proposal of tests enabling to improve the performance of tourist trade members, in particular hoteliers, travel agents, resort and village owners or cruise professionals.

ACCESSIBLE TOURISM AND INFO ON TOURISM MEDICINE

At TTG Incontri there will also be in-depth coverage of the issues of accessible tourism, a market involving 170 million people with limited mobility in Europe, by Roberto Vitali of Village 4 All. Up-to-date figures will be presented on tourism connected with travel for the disabled, but also solutions for attracting the target and adapting products, beaches and hotel facilities for guests with special requirements.

There well be discussions on tourism medicine with the participation of Prof. Walter Pasini, expert in International Health and founder of the Società Italiana di Medicina del Turismo. He will present the new edition of the handbook for tourist trade members “Viaggi e Salute nei 5 Continenti” (Travel and Health on the 5 Continents), as well as giving indications on advice for travellers leaving for areas involved with “new” illnesses and/or epidemics (e.g.: Ebola virus, Zika virus, Avian influenza, etc.).

TRAVEL BLOGGING

TTG Incontri will host a speech by Kash Batthacharya, a Scottish travel blogger and winner of the Travel Blogger and Vlogger of the Year Award at the Travel Media Awards. In 2012, he launched the #BlogVille project, in partnership with the Emilia-Romagna Region to promote tourism via the most qualified travel bloggers at international level. He will be at the expo withNicholas Montemaggi, for five years Digital PR and responsible for International Online Media Relations with the Emilia-Romagna Region (Tourism). A highly esteemed speaker at conferences at international level, Montemaggi will also give a speech at TTG Incontri, on the topic of Travel Blogging and the importance of the role now played by bloggers in the context of national and international tourist communication.

SELLING TOURISM IN THE DAYS OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

Another front with in-depth coverage will be social selling, i.e. the use of social media for effective contacts with clients. This will be the subject of a speech by Leonardo Bellini, Digital Marketing & Social Business Advisor. There is also eager expectation for the new edition of the Digital Tourism Observatory by Polimi – Polytechnic of Milan – on the value of the digital tourism market. There will be a preview presentation of the figures of Italians’ online spending for travel in Italy and abroad, with analyses of devices used before, during and after vacations, the products most and least purchased online and payment methods adopted.

GAY & LESBIAN TOURISM

The g&l market is a sector that is constantly growing and, according to Eurisko, has a turnover of over 2.5 billion euros in Italy. If climate, cuisine and wellness are the most appreciated ingredients, Italy has all it takes to recover the gap separating it from other world destinations in the response to this demand. For ten years, TTG Incontri follows and informs trade members on the dynamism regarding g&l tourism and, in collaboration with the AIGTL (Italian Association of Gay & Lesbian Tourism), will organize initiatives and in-depth coverage guided by journalist Alessandro Cecchi Paone.

The contents of TTG Incontri, which evolve daily, are updated on the Web site www.ttgincontri.it and will be proposed to an expected total over 63,000 trade members by more than 3,000 exhibitors and seen by over 1,000 buyers from 85 countries.

In fact, the Italy area of TTG Incontri is the world’s largest marketplace for dealing with the Italian tourist offer.

As well as the 53rd TTG INCONTRI, Rimini Fiera will also host the 65th SIA GUEST International Hospitality Exhibition and the 34th SUN International Exhibition for the Outdoor world.
