A new green space in Kerameikos, which Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis handed over to local citizens yesterday evening, has brought a breath of fresh air to Athens’ city centre.

On a 4,000-square metre site, which links Kerameikos train station with Technopolis, the City of Athens has created a recreational park comprising 3,000 square metres of greenery, namely 78 trees, 370 bushes and 2,000 seasonal plants, in collaboration with the Attiko Metro.

Furthermore,  Nikitas Kaklamanis delivered a fully revamped Persefonis St which, together with other spaces surrounding the station that the City of Athens regenerated and restored, bring new life to the area.
