Diagonal triangle is business travel hotbed with more than 20 top hotels

The triangle making up the area between Plaça de les Glories, the Fòrum, and the beachfront area has in the last five years grown into one of the city’s strongholds for business travel.
One of the latest ventures to open here is Hotel Zero, next to the CCIB international convention centre, with 262 rooms.
Since 2004 some 4,000 quality rooms in mainly four star hotels have come onto the market in this zone alone.
The thrust for all this expansion came with the Universal Forum of Cultures 2004, although since then the consolidation of 22@Barcelona, the city’s technology district, has helped generate business travel in this part of town.
The CCIB remains a driver of much of the meetings into the area, whilst other hotels in the heart of 22@ also find demand from company events and those nearer the beach also appeal to the vacation sector.
