The tourist flow of the Russians to Egypt increased in two times

The tourist flow of the Russians to Egypt increased by 90.4% in March, 2010 in comparison with March, 2009, according to  ATOR Analytical Service. The total number of the Russian tourists who visited Egypt was more than 300 000 people.

According to the data of Egyptian Tourist Authority for the last several years it was the highest number of the Russians visited the country in March. The total number of nights of the Russians during this period increased by 77% with the record mark of 2 503 231 nights.

During the first 3 months of 2010 the number of the Russians visited Egypt increased by 93.5% if to compare with the same period of 2009. So that was the record number of our tourists for the last years visited Egypt during this period (740 175 people). The number of nights from January to March increased by 80% in comparison with the same period of 2009 amounting 6 207 000 nights.

Such data let us forecast the record annual indicators of the destination. Egypt remains one of the most popular mass tourist destinations and takes the 2nd place after Turkey. According to the data of Federal State Statistics Service, 2 million Russians visited Egypt last year. According to the statistics of the first 3 months of the year, which demonstrates the increase of the tourist flow from Russia almost in two times, Egypt may become the leading destination in number of the Russian tourists.
