You might be about 1,000 years too late to be knighted at Esrum Abbey, which is situated in Græsted north of Copenhagen.
But on 19 and 20 june when the knights’ fair will be held at the old abbey, it will be possible.

At the fair it will also be possible to experience the aroma of roast lamb and herring or the sound of a breton bombard – a traditional musical instrument – on the tournament field where the knights get ready to fight.

Become a knight or a princess at Esrum Abbey
With a Knight’s Pass, children can visit the five activity camps: The Fight Camp, the Handicrafts Camp, the Horse Camp, the Weapons School and the Buskers’ and Music Camp.

The climax will be when young boys and girls can be knighted or made a princess of Esrum Abbey.

This year there will be something for the adults too, with challenges for those who want to test their strengths with life in the middle ages and try out the life of a knight.
