Traditionally May holidays can be called a “rehearsal” for summer season, according to ATOR, the Association of Russian Tour Operators, www.atorus.ru . Noting the demand for the tours during this period, it’s sometimes possible to forecast the trends of summer.

Tour operators deny rumors about slump in demand for the tours. The level of sales almost surpassed the indicator of last year. The usual leaders Turkey and Egypt kept high price level but could afford some “hot” offers. Exotic trips to Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Cuba were also popular during the holidays. According to the tour operators, crisis has finished in travel industry; people want relaxation and new experience.

ATOR conducted a survey among the operators for defining the most popular destinations during May holidays this year. Here is a small rating of the countries:

  1. Turkey
  2. Egypt
  3. Exotic countries
  4. Greece
  5. Montenegro
  6. Czech Republic
