Aeroflot banned the sales of alcoholic beverages during long haul flights

Aeroflot announced the decision to ban the sales of alcoholic drinks in economy class during long haul flights. The ban will affect the flights to Havana, Shanghai, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Vladivostok, Bangkok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.

The decision was taken “to maintain a high level of security of the flights and to provide the comfort for the passengers on board”. Air company has stopped selling alcoholic drinks during the flights to these destinations since February 2010 as an experiment, because the majority of accidents happen with drunk passengers during long haul flights.

The rules for the passengers on board, prohibiting to drink alcoholic beverages during the flight were developed by Aeroflot on the basis of the recommendations of IATA and satisfy the standards of SkyTeam. Source: atorus.ru
