On July 27, 2010 visa abolition agreement between Russia and Turkey came into force. Now the Russian tourists will be able to stay in Turkey without visas for 30 days.

Just to remind, that on May 12, 2010 during the visit of Dmitry Medvedev to Ankara a visa abolition agreement between the countries has been signed. Earlier the Russian citizens had to get visa entering the country and had to pay 20$ for it.

By the way, the tourist flow to Turkey has increased by 28% this year and such indicator may increase.  The data of Federal State Statistics Service can prove the advantages of visa free regime: the tourist flows from some countries with which Russia signed visa abolition agreement have considerably increased in the first quarter of 2010. For example, the demand for the tours to Russia in Israel increased by 85% for the last 2 years.

Some European countries have started to talk about visa abolition agreement. In particular, to assist Russia in the procedure of visa abolition with EU promised such countries as Finland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece and Cyprus.  source: www.atorus.ru
