ATOR: Russian travel market grew for more than 40%

According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, (ATOR), the number of requests in Yandex search system increased by 46% during the first 8 months of 2010. Such data was received by ATOR Analytical Service. So the information of Federal State Statistics Service, TOURMARKET.INFO and Russian Aviation Authorities about the growth of travel market for more than 40% can be confirmed as well.

The leading position in the rating of number of requests of Yandex visitors kept Turkey with the share of 18.4%. The second place took Egypt with the share of 16%. The following countries appeared among the leaders as well: Italy (5.5%), Greece (4.8%), Spain (4%), Thailand (3.4%), Tunisia (2.9%), Czech Republic (2.7%), Bulgaria (2.6%), Cyprus (2.4%), Croatia (2.3%), Israel (2.2%), Finland (2.2%), China (2%), Montenegro (1.9%) and Maldives (1.9%).

The peak for the demand of the tours in Yandex happened to be in May, the number of requests increased by 75% in comparison with May 2009.

About 23% of the requests of Yandex users in August were for Turkey and 14% for Egypt. It’s important to note that the share of these countries decreased by more than 5% in comparison with August 2009.

It’s interesting that the number of requests for the tours across the Russia increased. The potential demand for the tours to Moscow increased by 70% and to Baikal – by more than 60%. Though, smog and heat in July and August in the central regions of Russia had a negative impact on the demand for the Golden Ring tours.  atorus.ru
