Congrex has announced it will be implementing its App (Mobile phone application) at the 2nd WPC (World Parkinson Congress) – WPC 2010 in Glasgow.  The App which acts as an important networking and navigating tool will help participants get connected and stay connected throughout the event. The Congrex App allows delegates to access insightful data, downloads, event details, interactive maps, timely reminders – and most importantly, provide interactive messaging with speakers and other participants. Besides this the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau has also created a Glasgow City iPhone App for the WPC delegates

The WPC is the only global meeting of its kind, including everyone from the Parkinson’s community worldwide. People from all over the world, with such expertise coming together to share and contribute knowledge about Parkinson’s, is a unique opportunity.  It acts as a big attracter as it includes meeting of patients and scientists.

WPC 2010 Congress Manager, Elizabeth Pollard has said: ´We are thrilled with the support we have received from our management company, Congrex, in their creation of an iPhone App highlighting the entire WPC 2010 program including speakers and ancillary aspects of the meeting and with the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau with the creation of a Glasgow City iPhone app for the WPC delegates. These two Apps put the WPC 2010 ahead of the curve in technology we are offering to our delegates and we are pleased  to be able to make these items available.`

The introduction of the App into the WPC will make a difference in sessions for researchers, clinicians, patients, nurses, and a board range of therapists and others. This is no small task as the WPC expect more than 3,000 delegates from over 65 countries.  WPC will have more than 180 speakers from 23 countries speaking about Parkinson’s.

As Congrex Regional Managing Director Congrex UK & Benelux Rob Harrison comments, “In today’s ever changing world of technological advances Congrex are proud to provide and sponsor the iPhone App for the 2nd World Parkinson Congress.

By providing the latest state-of–the-art mobile technology for the participants they will be able to access the Congress programme, speakers, information, exhibitors and be kept up to date with any changes.  This can all be updated and published as it happens which can only help to enhance the participant experience.”

The WPC 2010 will be held at the SECC (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre) from the 28th of September to the 1st of October.  Further information about the WPC 2010 can be found at www.worldpdcongress.org.
