DUNDEE, Scotland, October 12, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — sQuid, the ePayments provider, and the Landmark Hotel, Dundee’s newest four star hotel, have announced the launch of a new loyalty and payment smart card using the latest in contactless smartcard technology.

The Landmark Hotel will follow in the footsteps of Nottingham Gateway Hotel, which was the first hotel in the UK to use the sQuid loyalty scheme back in April this year. sQuid have been trialing the loyalty programme over the past year, enabling businesses of any size to reward their customers.

The Landmark Hotel’s loyalty smartcard offers contactless payments and the promise of very attractive rewards, which are redeemable in the hotel’s bar and restaurant, as well as ‘booker’ rewards for accommodation bookings.

sQuid offers a breakthrough in multi-purse smartcard loyalty and payment services, as it enables customers to have two purses on one card; one for making payments with pre-loaded money, and one for storing their loyalty rewards. The accounts can be managed using an online account, where users can top up their cards, and view transactions on both purses to keep track of what they are spending, as well as how much they are being rewarded.

General Manager of The Landmark Hotel, Mike Metcalfe, said “This is a great opportunity for us to give something back to our guests. We will load their sQuid card with a cash credit every time they visit the hotel and this can be collected and used for any of our hotel facilities in the future. It’s our way of thanking our guests for their loyalty.”

Bede Feltham, Marketing Director at sQuid, said “This is an exciting application of our sQuid payments network, enabling the Landmark Hotel to reward their customers, which we believe is the key to repeat custom and loyalty. We are very pleased to introduce our loyalty solution at the Landmark Hotel in Dundee, the second hotel in the BDL Hotel Group.”
