The Association of British PCOs has launched an Academy to engage students and academic centres of excellence in event management.
The ABPCO Academy has been designed to introduce universities and colleges to the Association and will offer members the opportunity to gain recognition, credibility and strong visibility within the British business tourism market for their institution.
ABPCO chair Rebecca Cadman-Jones said: “ABPCO recognises the importance of students to the future of the events industry and we are working closely with academic institutions to enhance the development and quality standards of the meetings industry. The Academy will look at further programmes to help students gain experience, enabling them to graduate with the skill sets needed for a career in our industry.”
New member Manchester United Football Club is set to welcome ABPCO’s annual conference in January.
