Within the Corporate Health Award scheme TUI AG has been honoured for its special services in companyhealth management. The Corporate Health Award stands for an above average commitment towards the health of a company’s own employees and a forward-looking, sustainable staff strategy.

“TUI AG has been awarded the Special Prize ‘Culture & Health’ for its numerous innovative approaches for implementing corporate responsibility, respect, health and well-being so comprehensively that it has become a central part of the company culture and contributes to the sustainable success of the company,“ was how the expert committee of the Corporate Health Award explained its decision in favour of TUI. The Corporate Health Award is a joint initiative of TÜV SÜD Life Service, EuPD Research and the Handelsblatt newspaper.

Dr Peter Engelen, Chief HR Officer of TUI AG, was happy to receive the award for the company’s health management: “We have continuously built up our health management system while permanently incorporating our staff. We are pleased that this investment in our employees has now also been recognised by external experts.” For a number of years TUI has had a Health and Diversity Management unit that reports directly to the executive board.

Health starts where one feels comfortable. Based on this idea TUI offers a broad spectrum of activities that have an effect on the corporate culture and on health. Besides the certified safety at work there is a comprehensive health promotion programme entitled “fit with TUI”. In the “Changing sides“ project employees delve into other professions and worlds for a day to extend their horizon, for instance by spending the day in a children’s clinic or selling street magazines. In another project TUI employees help children as part of a reading aloud coaching programme.
