The prestigious travel guide Lonely Planet has placed Valencia at number five in its list — with New York at number one — of the best ten cities in the world to visit in 2011.

Lonely Planet highlights big events such as the America’s Cup and Formula 1, and recommends visiting the festival of Las Fallas, the Albufera, and the City of Arts and Sciences, as well as taking in the city’s special charm.

In 2010 an exclusive guide to the city with this publishing company was published with Valencia Tourism’s support.
