Kuoni helps rebuild Kenya school

Kuoni’s busy fundraising has raised a whopping £12,000 to help rebuild Manyatta Primary School in Kenya.

Back in 2006, The Born Free Foundation asked us to take on a new and exciting project to help rebuild Manyatta Primary School in Kenya. The school was in serious need of new classrooms to provide learning space for its 341 pupils and they also wanted to create a plant nursery to help areas that have been decimated by firewood collection and deforestation.

Staff in the Kuoni Dorking office are always busy fundraising and, over the past four years, we have donated £12,000 to this worthwhile project. As a result, the school now has five permanent classrooms, a library, books, desks, a water tank for clean safe drinking water and solar heating panels. This has made an enormous difference to the children and their community.

As a thank you and to show their gratitude, the children have drawn a beautiful picture of their school which will be framed and displayed proudly in our office!
