MAASTRICHT AMBASSADOR CLUB LAUNCHED

Together with Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Centre (MECC Maastricht), the Maastricht Convention Bureau initiated the ambassador club Amici ad Mosam (Friends along the river Meuse). The founding was a fact with the first Amici ad Mosam meeting during TEFAF, on March 26th.

Amici ad Mosam was founded to create a network and platform between regional academics, MECC Maastricht, and the Maastricht Convention Bureau. For many years now MECC Maastricht and the Maastricht Convention Bureau, have been building a relationship with academics from Maastricht & region. Together with them, they try to get conferences and scientific meetings to come to Maastricht & region.

Network

MECC Maastricht and the Maastricht Convention Bureau noticed that the academics are quite willing to try and get a conference to come to Maastricht & region, but that they could use some support. By establishing Amici ad Mosam, a network and platform are created. Meetings will be organised on a regular basis, during which information will be given on various topics related to organising conferences and scientific meetings. This way, it is easier for the various parties (academics, MECC Maastricht and Maastricht Convention Bureau, Maastricht local government, professional conference organisers etcetera) to get in touch with each other and decisions can be made more easily. Because people know one another through Amici ad Mosam and they all are just a phone call away from each other. Momentarily, a start has been made with a network of academics from mainly the Maastricht University and academic hospital. It is expected that this network will become bigger in the future. Especially with all the developments: Brainport 2020, the CHEMaterials Campus and naturally the Health Campus.
