Marriott Rewards Tops Hotel Loyalty Programs at the 2011 Frequent Traveler Awards

For the second year in a row, Marriott Rewards has topped the Frequent Traveler Awards, taking first place in half the categories, the most of any hotel loyalty program.  Marriott Rewards took home top honors in eight categories, including “Program of The Year” for both the Americas and Europe/Africa.

According to the Frequent Traveler Awards, over a million people from nearly every country worldwide casted online ballots for their favorite programs in seven categories across one of three global regions.

“We are thrilled to have received such high recognition from our members,” said Ed French, senior vice president for Marriott Rewards.  “Whether adding new earning and redemption options or offering promotions to help members get to their free vacations faster, we are always looking for new opportunities to make travel easier for our members.”

Marriott took first place in the following categories:

o Program of the year (hotel)  – Americas and Europe/Africa
o Best Promotion for Redemption (hotel) – Americas
o Best Promotion for Earning (hotel) – Americas and Europe/Africa
o Best Elite Level Promgram (hotel) –Europe /Africa
o Best Customer Service (hotel) – Americas and Europe/Africa

The Frequent Traveler Awards represent excellence in frequent travel programs worldwide, rating the best frequent flyer and frequent guest programs. Frequent flyer and frequent guest programs from around the world competed in five categories. Voters selected programs in one of three global regions: Americas, Europe/Africa, and the Middle East/Asia and Oceania. The Frequent Traveler Awards were voted on by frequent travelers worldwide, allowing them to rank airline and hotel programs from their point of view. The merits of what each program offers determined the winners.

Marriott Rewards has no blackout dates and members can earn and redeem points at more than 3,400 Marriott International hotels around the world, including Marriott® Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott® Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance® Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Hotels, Autograph Collection, EDITION, Courtyard by Marriott®, Residence Inn by Marriott®, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott®, TownePlace Suites by Marriott®, SpringHill Suites by Marriott®, and Marriott Vacation Club®.  Members can also redeem points for frequent flyer miles, cruises, car rentals and more.
