More than 200 event organisers took part in the 24th National Congress organised by Asociación de Organizadores Profesionales de Congresos, Ferias y Eventos de la Comunitat Valenciana (OPC CV), which make up Spain’s EFAPCO member network Federación OPC España.
Congress themes highlighted the use of technologies, the importance of sustainability and providing accessible services for disabled people.
The scientific programme included workshops on: the financial aspects of event contracts; the use of social media in events; and laughter therapy to combat stress.
Other sessions tackled such issues as the importance of business tourism and the impact of Spanish law on event organisation; and how to tackle the problems posed by unqualified PCOs.
The 25th Congress will take place next year in the provincial capital of Girona.
