Milan, June 2011:  Milan now has a new large conference venue, one of the largest in Europe.  On 20 May 2011, Milano Congressi (MiCo) officially opened its doors and now offers an important opportunity for the Italian meetings and events market.  Milan and Italy finally have a venue that will enter the circuit of major international meetings, with a total capacity up to 18,000 participants thanks to its 64 modular rooms (from 20 to 2.000 seats), a plenary room that seats about 4,500 and 54,000 sqm of exhibition space.

AIM Group International contributed actively to the communication initiatives and to the preparation of the opening ceremony: one of the core activities was undoubtedly the management of invitations, which led to a thorough selection process and personalised contact.  This allowed us to have an audience of over 500 professionals, including decision makers of the major scientific associations and opinion leaders from many European countries (but also from USA, Canada, South Africa, China and India).

The guests, and especially foreigners, have been welcomed and assisted during their entire period of stay in Milan.  A sophisticated social program related to the inauguration of MiCo demonstrated the cultural offerings of Milan and the Lombardy region.  The city is now preparing for the great opportunity represented by the EXPO 2015 and, thanks to the new convention center MiCo, has all its cards in order, ready to capture new market space.
