Nottingham Racecourse and Nottingham City Council have embarked on a new partnership to promote and use more productively the outdoor event space available at the course. The partnership will see Nottingham Racecourse put on the map as the Midlands’ definitive large scale outdoor event facility.

The scope of the partnership includes the joint promotion of the expansive space at the centre of the course for a whole range of events from music festivals to community gatherings. Located only two miles from Nottingham City Centre and set within 280 acres of Colwick Park the racecourse represents an ideal venue for event bookers looking for a unique and convenient outdoor space.

Cllr David Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Tourism at Nottingham City Council, said: “The partnership with the racecourse is an exciting opportunity to bring to life the often unused field in the centre of the racecourse. It is hoped that the space will provide a unique and versatile venue that will be ideal for hosting a range of new and exciting events such as concerts, trade shows and fairs”.

“One of the main advantages of using a racecourse is the large amount of outdoor and indoor space available with free onsite car parking. The onsite caterers are used to dealing with the logistics of a large amount of guests and they have a strong network of banqueting staff to call on.”

Nadia Gollings commercial manager at Nottingham Racecourse said: “We are very pleased to be working with Nottingham City Council. This is an exciting chapter for Nottingham Racecourse, we are thrilled about the partnership and eager to make our mark as a top quality outdoor event space.”

With a rich racing history Nottingham Racecourse is known for its top racing calendar throughout the year. However, when the course is not hosting a racing fixture the venue boasts 15 suites accommodating 12 – 200 people and offers a whole host of packages from conferences and teambuilding to Christmas parties.
