LONDON, June 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ –July 2011 Launch Will Maximise Opportunities Created by the New Virgin Atlantic Direct Service

Virgin Holidays has announced that it will be launching its first ever dedicated Mexico brochure in July as the destination gears up for an increase in UK holidaymakers travelling on the new direct London – Cancun service from Virgin Atlantic.

The 52-page brochure will more than double the current programme to feature 30 hotels ranging from 3-5V in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playacar and Cozumel, as well as a selection of excursions.

Mexico becomes the only destination to have its own brochure in the current Virgin Holidays Caribbean portfolio, and the company anticipates that it will help generate up to 12,000 customers in its first year.

Commenting on the launch of the new brochure, Virgin Holidays Managing Director Amanda Wills said:

“This new brochure further strengthens our status as the number one holiday company to the Caribbean. We’ve wanted to launch a dedicated programme to Mexico for a long time, and many of our customers have told us they want to see more of the destination – so it’s win-win.

“The new direct service will finally give us the additional capacity needed. Whether it is beautiful beaches, great hotels or fascinating cultural heritage, Mexico boasts many of the things our customers love. We know those holidaying there with us in the future will receive a very warm welcome and have a fantastic experience.

“We have been very successful in building and maintaining our leading market share in destinations across the Caribbean and plan to achieve the same position in Mexico, building on the firm foothold we already have.”

Virgin Holidays has sold Mexico as part of its Caribbean brochure for over 10 years, and currently features 14 hotels. Mexico packages in the new brochure will start at £799 for a seven night all-inclusive break.
