Cuba. Exhibition of Classic Cars Takes Havana’s Traditional Paseo del Prado

Cuba. Over thirty classic cars owned by The Havana Old Automobile Club and the A Lo Cubano Club, together with cars belonging to aficionados that met the necessary technical requirements, took part in an exhibition organized by the Excelencias Group in Old Havana and its Excelencias del Motor magazine, a publication that’s celebrating its 30th issue this week.

The exhibit was conducted at the hustling Paseo del Prado and lured thousands of people who watched the excellent preservation of these American-made old cars. Some of the highlights in the exhibition were there Jaguar, the Ford Fairlane 500, the ‘55 Chevrolet Belair, the ’58 Dodge Kingsway, the ’54 Mercury, the 1930s Ford A and the ‘52 Plymouth.

The automobile owners vied for the Most Original and Best Preserved vehicles. In the second category, attendees were amazed at the state of preservation many of these old-vintage gems boast, many of them still featuring their original interiors, accessories and parts, despite their having left the assembly line over half a century ago.
