Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) ceremoniously opens the “Royal Orchid Plus Celebration Day” to celebrate its 17th year in the frequent flyer venture.

Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, said that THAI’s Royal Orchid Plus program (ROP) was part of the marketing strategy for the retention of loyal passengers, through Gold, Silver, and Standard membership levels.  ROP members can accumulate miles on any Star Alliance member carriers, at selected hotel stays within Thailand and abroad, with car rentals, and through selected credit card companies.

The accumulated miles can be redeemed for air tickets, seat upgrades on THAI or Star Alliance carriers, hotel stays, as well as souvenirs from THAI Shop and THAI Catering.  Other benefits include priority seat reservations, priority check-in, additional baggage allowance, priority boarding, priority baggage handling, and worldwide departure lounge access.

To reward Royal Orchid Plus members during this 17th anniversary celebration fair, THAI is offering a 50% savings when redeeming two international Award Tickets on THAI from member’s account.  All travel must be completed by 31 October 2010.
