Ovation Global DMC has named Samme Allen winner of its 2011 Huggabilty Award. The announcement was made at IMEX America, Las Vegas where Samme was presented with a specially commissioned award by Ovation Managing Directors Patrick Delaney and Padraic Gilligan.

Head of Sales, Business Events at the Barbican Centre London and President of MPI’s UK & Ireland Chapter, Samme was nominated for being ‘‘immensely supportive of everyone in the meetings world, kind and dynamic, a pleasure to work with and an inspiration to the industry‘‘.

Passing on her huggability crown to Samme, 2010 winner Barbra Albrecht of the Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau reflected ‘’What a fun year I have had with OB. Introducing him to the Swiss Alps, placing him on skis for the first time, swimming together in the warm summer sunshine and acquainting him with our country’s culinary delights (chocolate being his favourite) were just some of my personal highlights’’. But it wasn’t all fun and play as OB proved to be ‘’a great help to the team at SCIB’’, assisting Barbra in operating the 7th Switzerland Meeting Trophy and Ovation Switzerland’s Renato in delivering the Protective Life Insurance programme in the Lake Geneva region just last month.
