The Airbus A380, currently the largest airliner made, arrived in the Czech Republic as part of the 45th anniversary celebration of Lufthansa Airlines. The airline, which is the largest foreign carrier in Prague, used the occasion to stress how important the Czech market is for its business.
The landing itself was observed by thousands of aviation enthusiasts. The pilot surprised the crowd by first making a flyover above the runway. At 9:19, the gigantic craft touched down for the first time in the history of Prague/Ruzyne Airport.
