MCEC Director of Sales and Marketing elected to the Meetings & Events Australia National Board

Director of Sales and Marketing, Anne Jamieson from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) was elected to the Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) National Board at their Annual General Meeting in Hobart on Tuesday 22 November.

“After being elected to the MEA National Council last year, I am thrilled to have now been elected to the MEA National Board and look forward to working with other members again in 2012 to further develop MEA’s membership base,” said Anne Jamieson.

MCEC Acting Chief Executive Leighton Wood said “I congratulate Anne on being elected to the MEA National Board. Her passion and knowledge of the meetings and events industry is evident and I know this will continue to carry across to her role on the Board.

Anne joined MCEC in June 2009 as Director of Sales and was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing in March 2010.

Managing a dynamic sales and marketing team of more than 20, she also works closely with the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau to tailor proposals for national and international conventions and congresses.

Anne has extensive experience in senior executive roles at The Westin Melbourne, Novotel Melbourne on Collins, InterContinental Hotel Groups, Radisson and Sheraton Hotels.

MEA is an independent non-profit body dedicated to fostering professionalism and excellence in all aspects of meetings management. The role of the National Council is to provide strategic guidance to the Association.
