Alfred Kuoni, the only son carrying the same name as the founder of Kuoni, died last Saturday in Zurich at the age of 98. From 1957 to 1992 Alfred Kuoni was Chairman of the Kuoni and Hugentobler Foundation. During his term of office he contributed greatly to the development and independence of Switzerland’s largest travel group.

Alfred Kuoni was born in 1914, the only son of the company’s founder. When his father, also called Alfred, died in 1943, he took over the majority shareholding in Kuoni. In 1957 he founded the Kuoni and Hugentobler Foundation together with minority shareholder Harry Hugentobler. The foundation still holds 25 percent of voting rights of Kuoni Travel Holding AG.

The Board of Directors, Group Management and employees of Kuoni would like to express their heartfelt condolences to the family. Alfred Kuoni will always be remembered very warmly by the company.
