Carlson Wagonlit Travel Acquires AC Events in Ireland

AMSTERDAM – Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) announces that it has acquired AC Events International Limited (AC Events) through its UK subsidiary, Carlson Wagonlit UK Limited. AC Events, based in Dublin, Ireland has provided meetings and events management services to corporations since 2005 and has been working in association with CWT since 2008.

As a result of this acquisition, CWT further expands its meetings and events activities and strengthens its business presence in the Irish market. AC Events will be fully integrated into CWT Ireland’s operations. Aine Corrigan, former owner of AC Events, will remain in the company as director CWT Meeting & Events Ireland under the leadership of Lisa Whelan, country director, CWT Ireland.

“This acquisition will strengthen CWT’s presence in Ireland and will help to broaden CWT’s offering to its Irish customers. Aine Corrigan’s strong experience in the meetings and events business will allow her to bring additional insight and help further drive our meetings and events activities,” said Whelan.

Integration of AC Events has begun and will continue over the coming months. Throughout the transition, CWT and AC Events will remain focused on delivering the strong service their customers have come to expect, while ensuring a seamless integration.
